This bright and modern bar occupies a good spot as part of the Bickerstaffe House office building (home to Blackpool Council). Next door to the big Sainsbury’s it’s handy for thirsty shoppers wanting a coffee. Against the railway station and tram terminus it’s a great meeting (or waiting) spot for anyone using public transport. Right at the heart of the regeneration area it’s in a handy place.

Second of Two…

Raleside follows on from the success of the Shipwreck in Cleveleys. Following the theme, Trainwreck was originally mooted as the name, but decided against! You’ll find similar interior decoration to Shipwreck at Raleside – but with a quirky transport theme in keeping with the location.

Raleside Blackpool

It’s a relaxing, family friendly vibe at Raleside where you can enjoy a refreshing drink and something tasty to eat. This brewhouse offers a unique blend of flavours and experiences for everyone to enjoy. There’s outside seating and live music, a full food menu and award winning barista coffee.

Cask Ales and flagship IPA come fresh from the local Fuzzy Duck Brewery in nearby Poulton. There, they’re specially brewed in small batch artisan brews of exceptional quality. If that’s not your thing there’s an extensive range of other Beers including: Budvar, Cruzcampo , 7 Brothers Honeycomb Pale, 7 Brothers Juicy IPA, Budvar 0% on draught and Forged Irish Stout.

Inside, seating is a combination of traditional tables and chairs, comfy chairs and bar stools. Sit awhile and watch the world go by through the floor-to-ceiling glass windows. The overhang to Bickerstaffe House provides shelter for the outdoor seating terrace – ideal on those drizzly Blackpool days!

Disabled Access

There’s level access at the front of the store and plenty of manoeuvring space inside for wheelchairs and prams. There’s a disabled loo on the ground floor and additional customer toilets on the first floor. Access to the mezzanine first floor is by stairs.

Overall

We’re frequent fliers at the Shipwreck in Cleveleys! It’s the go-to watering hole for the Care for Cleveleys voluntary group so we know the owner and staff very well. As you can imagine, we were all pleased when we found out that a second bar was being opened in Blackpool.

The day that I visited I enjoyed a very tasty, filling and fresh ploughman’s style lunchtime platter and a refreshing flavoured cider.

Ploughman's platter

This corner of Talbot Gateway has been woefully short of a good cafe bar for a long time. The popular cafe inside Sainsbury’s closed around the time of the pandemic. But now Raleside has changed all that, serving great coffee and a wide selection of beers and alcoholic drinks. If you’re looking for something to eat, there’s cakes and snacks and a good menu of food to choose from.

Why don’t you call in next time you’re in the area. Don’t forget to mention that you saw it on Visit Fylde Coast!
