Indoors Only

This former bank building conveniently had a double entrance, complete with access ramps for less able-bodied customers. It’s a perfect arrangement because you can go inside but the cats can’t accidentally get out! With secure access on the inner door it keeps the cats safe in the building.

The entrance area includes a huge photo-wall of all the many cats which have been adopted since the business opened. Café Meow works in conjunction with Tender Paws and Cats in Care – two Blackpool cat charities to rehome animals in care.

Inside Cafe Meow Blackpool

Inside the main building is a cosy, comfy haven – for people and pets! Choose from comfy wing-backed chairs or a soft sofa and make yourself at home for an hour. Choose from the menu of cakes and snacks and enjoy your complimentary tea or coffee which is included with entry. There is a separate kitchen at the back of the shop where food is cooked and prepared – away from the cats.

Disabled Access

There’s level/ramp access to front of the store, so is fully accessible for those with mobility requirements. Toilet facilities are located on the same floor as the restaurant.

Café Meow – Blackpool Cat Cafe

Always best to book in advance if you want to visit Café Meow at a busy time – weekends and school holidays. Mid week and on quiet days you should be able to just walk-in. Entry costs cover an hour and include a free drink.

Meet the cats at Cafe Meow

The cat charities involved with the business take in animals which are abandoned, in distress or in need of care. Once they’ve been stabilised and treated if necessary, the ones which are suitable for rehoming move on to Café Meow. Here, they live on the premises – supervised and accompanied around the clock by their human friends. Anyone who wants to adopt a cat goes through a simple, fair vetting process before they take their new furbaby home. Staff are also at hand to give advice and guidance to new owners.

Overall

There’s a lovely warm and friendly atmosphere about this unique Blackpool Café. People who love animals always love chatting pets and sharing stories. Together with the company of the cats and the comfy atmosphere it’s a must-do for all cat lovers!
