Blackpool Race for Life

Wednesday 1 July 2026 at 7pm (3k, 5k or 10k)

Starting from Blackpool Tower Festival Headland

Blackpool Race for Life offers an achievable distance for people of all ages and abilities, with a choice of three distances. You can run or walk your way around the course.

The new 2026 course begins and ends at the iconic Blackpool Tower by the Comedy Carpet. Participants run towards North Pier, follow the lower promenade with individual U‑turns, then climb past the Hole in the Wall Café to the middle promenade before racing back to the finish. The 10k route features a U‑turn beyond the go karting area, reaching the war memorial before starting a second lap on the same route to the finish.

The start and finish are on flat, hardstanding terrain. The Course is on surfaced paths which is predominantly flat apart from one small section with a steep incline. There is an alternative route for wheelchair users and prams. The 10k course is a double lap route of the 5k.

Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life is a series of events raising money for research into all 200 types of cancer – people of any age, shape, size and fitness level can take part – Join the Race for Life in Blackpool.

More about Race for Life

Originally a race for women, now it’s open to everyone. It brings millions of people together to support life-saving research. Just by signing up you’ll make a difference and whether you raise £10 or £200, every penny matters.

Cancer Research UK hopes to see you there, joined by family and friends – walking, jogging, dancing and sponsoring – whatever it takes to help save lives and hit cancer where it hurts!

A 5k is great for all ages. Run, jog or walk the only thing that matters is that you’re part of it. Whether you do it in a tutu (men and women!) or just an old pink t-shirt, THIS IS BEATING CANCER.

Race for Life has already raised hundreds of millions to fund Cancer Research UK’s life saving work since it began in 1994, but it doesn’t stop there. Cancer Research UK will keep on fighting until cures for all 200 types of cancer are found.
