Rocky Horror Show – 18 – 23 Nov at 8pm
Australian superstar Jason Donovan comes to Blackpool in Richard O’Brien’s legendary rock ‘n’ roll musical, The Rocky Horror Show, as part of a new world tour. The legendary performer reprises his iconic role as the captivating Frank-n-Furter across the UK, following a sold-out Australian Tour in 2024.
Having been seen by over 35 million theatregoers, The Rocky Horror Show is the story of two squeaky clean college kids – Brad and his fiancée Janet. When by a twist of fate, their car breaks down outside a creepy mansion whilst on their way to visit their former college professor, they meet the charismatic Dr Frank’n’Furter. It is an adventure they’ll never forget, filled with fun, frolics, frocks, and frivolity. Directed by Christopher Luscombe, The Rocky Horror Show is the biggest party and features timeless classics, including Sweet Transvestite, Dammit Janet, and of course, the pelvic thrusting showstopping Time Warp.
British National Championships – 21 to 24 November
2024 will see the 49th anniversary of the British National Dance Championship. This competition displays the best in British Ballroom and Latin Dancing. Originally titled The British Closed Championships, the competition was renamed in 1997 as the title was found to be too confusing
The Festival covers four days and takes place in the beautiful Empress Ballroom at the Winter Gardens. The Juveniles and Juniors dance on the Saturday afternoon and early evening. The British National Solo Championships and All Girls Couples dance on the 24th November
Nile Rodgers & CHIC – Mon 25 Nov at 7.30pm
Nile Rodgers is a Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee, Songwriters Hall of Fame inductee and a multiple Grammy Award-winning songwriter, composer, producer, arranger, and guitarist.
As the co-founder of CHIC, Rodgers pioneered a musical language that generated chart-topping hits like “Le Freak”, the biggest selling single in the history of Atlantic Records, and sparked the advent of hip-hop with “Good Times.”
The Magic Of Dance – Tues 26 Nov at 6.30pm
Wyre & Fylde School Sports Partnership is working with school children from across the Fylde Coast. See local children put on their dancing shoes to perform in this dance extravaganza, now in its 15th year. The event includes children from primary, high schools and special schools who will all perform their own routines to tell a story through dance and movement in this charity and community event, to an audience of 2,000 parents. Rat Pack – A Swingin’ Christmas At The Sands – Thurs 28 Nov at 7.30pm
The stars of ‘The Rat Pack – Swingin’ at the Sands’ will be bringing the ultimate Christmas party to the UK this festive season following a sold-out show at the West Ends’ Adelphi Theatre last December. With their mastery of the Great American Songbook, the show prides itself on authenticity, camaraderie, comedy and the ability to give everyone a swingin’ time.
After spending five years starring as Dean Martin in the hit West End show ‘The Rat Pack – Live From Las Vegas’, Mark Halliday created his first of many hit shows, ‘The Rat Pack – Swingin’ At The Sands’ in 2010. Over the past decade the show has gone from strength to strength, with appearances in some of the UK’s leading theatres, spots on cruise ships across the world from Catalan to Colombia, events for corporate clients including Virgin Airlines and performances at outdoor shows everywhere from Denmark to Dubai.

Experience the power of over three hundred voices singing together, accompanied by string quartet and live band, in support of local charity, North West Air Ambulance.
Local Vocals was founded by LIPA graduate Laura Bennett and currently boasts over four hundred and fifty choir members who meet weekly across Lancashire and Fylde to support their aim of doing good for others through the joy of singing.

The timeless love story, the Oscar winning film and now a musical classic – the global smash hit Ghost the Musical returns to Blackpool for one week only from Tuesday 03 December.
The movie Ghost is one of cinema’s biggest all-time hits. Starring the late Patrick Swayze alongside Demi Moore and Whoopi Goldberg, it was the highest grossing film of 1990 and won an Oscar for screenwriter Bruce Joel Rubin who has adapted his screenplay for this musical. The international smash hit returns to the stage, featuring The Righteous Brothers’ ‘Unchained Melody’ alongside many more terrific songs co-written by Eurythmics’ Dave Stewart.

Known for revolutionising the Motown sound, The Temptations brought lyrical depth and an abundance of instrumental content. Now, a brand-new stage show is coming to Blackpool, re-imagining their most beloved hits.

The Opera House
New, upcoming bands have played in the Opera House including the like of Little Mix. Old favourites, such as Jane McDonald and Daniel O’Donnell continue to return. Some of the world’s best bands, including Canada’s Arcade Fire, who selected the Winter Gardens as only one of three venues to play in the UK.
The Empress Ballroom
The magnificent Empress Ballroom is just as comfortable staging the World Dance Championships each year as it is hosting some of the world’s best rock and pop acts in concert.

The Winter Gardens is an incredible building with a long history. It first opened on 11 July 1878 and since then has grown and developed as an entertainment complex which mirrors the growth of the seaside town of Blackpool.
In the centre of the complex, in what’s now the coffee shop, you can see the original building around which the whole of the Winter Gardens was built.
Blackpool Winter Gardens – A Perfect Venue for your Event
The Winter Gardens offers a wide variety of venues for events ranging from small private business lunches to large scale conferences.
You can also hold your wedding at the Winter Gardens. What could be better than a reception or banquet in the recently refurbished Derham Room? (below).
The main rooms include the 2,900 capacity Opera House (the largest theatre stage outside London), the grand Empress Ballroom with a capacity of 3,250 people for concerts, and the 2,600 sq metre Olympia Exhibition Hall.
