Were you there? Did you see the amazing Blackpool Tower Circus Parade on 12 July 2018?
On one day, a procession of quirky characters and amazing performers from all over the world, travelled together along Blackpool Promenade. The Blackpool Tower Circus Parade was a terrific tour along the Promenade, celebrating the rich history of Circus in Blackpool!
Blackpool Tower Circus Parade, 12 July 2018
Led by Mooky and Mr Boo, the parade set off at midday from Central Pier. The colourful crowd made their way along the Promenade with circus acts, performers, local schools and more.
They made their way to the Comedy Carpet for a special Circus Performance. Our official contributor and amazing photographer Kate Yates went along to capture the event for us. Have a look at her brilliant photos in this gallery –

Circus250
Blackpool is one of six “Cities Of Circus” in the UK that have been chosen to help commemorate the very first circus in London 250 years ago. The national launch of the national Circus250 celebrations were celebrated in Blackpool with projections on to the front of The Blackpool Tower building.
Our own programme of circus-themed events and exhibitions will be developed through the year. They’ll be led by the world-famous Blackpool Tower Circus which hasn’t missed a season since 1894!
The Blackpool Tower Circus Parade is one part of this year of celebration.
