Blackpool South Pier

No visit to Blackpool is complete without a visit to the Piers. Blackpool South Pier is the one near to the Pleasure Beach and Sandcastle Waterpark. It’s the one with the crazy rides right at the end of it!

Blackpool is lucky. While many seaside towns don’t even have one pier, Blackpool has THREE! It’s a fun day out for all of the family to enjoy.

South Pier Opening Times

  • Admission to South Pier is FREE.
  • The arcade at the front entrance to the Pier is open every day from the beginning of February.
  • South Pier opens daily for February half term.
    Open every weekend from then until the Easter holidays.
    Then open daily throughout the season.
  • All opening hours are weather dependant.

You’ll find the biggest selection of Pinball machines in Blackpool in the amusement arcade on South Pier.

Along with big cash prize machines and traditional slots, it’s one of those places you’ve just got to visit during your holiday!

Blackpool South Pier is where you’ll find fairground rides for little kids and adrenaline rides for big thrill seekers!

If you’re really looking for a thrill there’s the Cliffhanger and Sky Coaster rides, over the sea at the end of the pier. Not for the faint hearted!

There’s strictly no adults on the children’s rides. Sorry! Your little ones will have a great time on the Train, the Teacups, Carousel, Inflatable Slide and many more.

Every self respecting seaside pier has a great selection of side stalls, cafes and kiosks!

Have your palm read at South Pier

There’s plenty of things to catch your eye on Blackpool South Pier, including all of your funfair favourites like hook-a-duck, hoopla, darts and more.

When you’re feeling peckish, stop off at the Happy Haddock – the fish and chip restaurant which sells a variety of favourites as well as fish and chips.

  • Entry to rides is by ticket – and note that tickets can only be used on the pier where they were purchased.

The Gin House

Have you seen the Gin House? It was new in 2021 at Blackpool South Pier.

Enjoy live DJs playing soul classics from 1pm most afternoons, plus live bands and artists at weekends.

The Gin House now has a brand new outdoor screen, showing all Sky fixture games, and plenty of indoor screens. There’s also an outdoor bar for fast track service of selected beers, wines and spirits.No need to book, walk-in’s only.
